Gift Giving Ideas That Give Twice!

on December 2, 2013

Do you still have a few running friends on your gift list? Or maybe your on the lookout for something new for yourself.  Why not give a gift that gives twice?  What a better way to spread the love during the holidays!

Here are a list of some companies that not only offer great products but also help pay it forward in their unique way.  Check them out and maybe add them to your Holiday List

Janji: performance tees / tank / tights / headwear / etc.

I have blogged about these guys before.  The motto over at Janji is “Run for Another”  With every purchase a portion of your money goes to help those in need here and abroad.  I have loved every product I have received from Janji.

From the Janji website:  Through each purchase of Janji’s distinctive running apparel, a portion of proceeds funds organizations that are alleviating the worst problems related to food and water.  By funding solutions and raising awareness through our apparel, Janji wants to create a nation of runners that run for another and eliminate the global food and water crisis.

Stupid Cancer  – shirts / hats / team stupid cancer running tank / accessories

A non-profit organization that helps empower young adults with cancer.

From the Stupid Cancer website:  Founded in 2007 by a young adult cancer survivor, Stupid Cancer is a non-profit organization that empowers young adults affected by cancer through innovative and award-winning programs and services. We are the nation’s largest support community for this underserved population and serve as a bullhorn for the young adult cancer movement.

The Sox Box – cool sox for running / crossfit / etc

From the Sox Box Website:  20% of their lifetime proceeds go to support Independence Fund, a non-profit group that directly supports our warriors fighting the global war on terror.

And 20% of breast cancer related sox go toward Breast Cancer Research

Shubeez – collectible shoe tags

When you purchase a Shubeez “Lace up to Beat Cancer” or “Team in Training” Shubeez option $1 from each (or $10 from bulk orders) goes to help the fight.

Kindrunner –  Name Brand Running shoes with the Kindrunner program

Buy yourself or your friend new shoes / donate old running shoes for those in need.

857306_347337972041950_1881670936_oHow it works:

 From the Kindrunner website:

Run: When you purchase a shoe through Kindrunner, Kindrunner will send a Kindness Cash Rewards return-label in the box you receive via shipment. This label is then used to send an old, or worn, pair of running shoes–along with the original packaging to be recycled–back to our closest Shoe Donation Partners processing center (saving energy and unnecessary expense). It does not matter what brand of shoes you send back or what size they are–someone else will appreciate them!

***See for complete details!

Kindrunner will also take your used running shoes even if you didn’t purchase them through the program.  (Kindness Cash and 3 way free ship do NOT apply)  But they will be sure to get your shoes to someone in need!  See their website for more details

Women Run – tops / bottoms/ accessories

From their website:

5% of the profit of each product sold goes to charities that benefir women and girls in need.  We look to support local, grassroots charities that are doing important frontline work where our support and attention can help bring greater good to the charity’s efforts.
